This course offers an in-depth overview of Natural Language Processing, designed for final-semester Data Science students with strong programming background (Python) and prior coursework in machine learning.
Course Objectives:
- Overview of the key challenges and applications in NLP
- Presentation of major models and architectures, from classical statistical approaches to modern systems (n-grams, Word2Vec, RNN, LSTM, Transformers, and recent LLMs). Particular emphasis is placed on understanding models from the ground up
- Strong practical component, including hands-on implementation and comparison of core NLP architectures
